Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Cattle off for Winter

    Hello All,

I am afraid to say that the cattle have left now for the winter and shall not be back until Spring 2013.  If you are interested they have actually got to a different site than originally planned and are now residing on Velmead Common (Behind Foresters Pub and Velmead School).  This means if want to pop in and say hello or continue your lookering on this site then please feel free to.  I will invite you to the velmead Blog if you wish to become a looker there so let me know.

    Thanks again for everything.

all the girls were happily chomping away in j6.bambi looks like a different cow her fur seems so much darker,i guess her winter coat. nice to see them all happy and seemingly contented all very close i guess they spread out a bit after this time deb. x

Hi everyone, I appreciate it's not my day for lookering but had to say that I saw the girls today at 4: 45 this afternoon. It was very strange as I've never seen them so far apart from one another. Daisy was in L4, Bambi in K5, Jericho in M5 with the snakes, and Crumple in N7. They all looked fine eating away at what they could find.  I just thought, this was the first time I have seen them so far apart!
