Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday, 26 March 2014

Spotted all the girls this afternoon at 2:45pm spread out between K7, K8 & K9. all with heads down except for Daisy who was sitting down, just looking around.  I didn't get up too close but all looked fine.

    Tuesday 25 March 8:15am

All grazing in the area around the trough D15,  looked fine.
The gate at C16 was not properly latched but did not open when I pushed it.  Lifting the gate slightly made it latch properly.

Can you tell me is Bambi still with the girls ?

    visited today at 2.15pm

The girls where all huddled together in c4 under the tree, scratching their heads on the low branches and generally looking really chilled out. They barely even noticed the puppys having a moment on noticing them in the undergrowth, not the easiest to find either,i nearly gave up.

    Sunday, 23 March 2014

No sighting of them yesterday (Saturday), must have been hiding as I was over there very early.  Anyway, Today, they were in M12/13 at 12:15.  Daisy laying down with others walking around chewing the cud.  All looking fine.

    Thursday, 20 March 2014

Surprised we spotted them today but did catch sight of the White one first. They were all spaced apart in N7/N8 at 13:15, all pulling at the bracken for food I guess.  All looked fine.

Tuesday 18th March - Site Check

Did a site check today and after quite a bit of searching found the cattle in D4 enjoying a lay down in the sunshine. All were looking well.

    Tuesday 18 March 8:15am

All hiding in trees N7 looked fine, mainly browsing on the gorse. Trough full. Any news on Bambi or the name of the new recruit?

    re thursday

Im not available this thursday so if anyone is going there could you have a look out for the girls x

    visited today @2pm ish

Lovely to see all 5 cows back,if not a few pounds lighter lol.Saw the chilling out some lying some standing in the middle of the heath field near the group of pines,im going to need another map as mine has disappeared. I didn't get too close as i want my puppys to get used to them slowly and not bark at them, which i might add is what i fully expected today, but thank god they only barked a little.

    Saturday, 15 March 2014

We spotted the girls walking along the muddy track in H10 at 9am this lovely morning.  We followed them for about 15 mins all the way down to the trough in D15. They all looked fine, Daisy taking up the rear as usual but her back leg didn't look as bad as last year. So good to see them back.

    Friday, 14 March 2014

Hi everyone, I know it's not my day but as I was over there today, I thought I'd go say hello to the girls.  So, we have Daisy, Crumple, Morag & Jericho back but no Bambi yet, I do hope she is ok.  would be really good to know the name of the White one though so perhaps one of the the Guys could update us...thanks & it's great to see them back

    Cattle Back on Site

Guy and I were over at Bramshott today. We had a few fence repairs to do which all went without any hitches. At the end of the repairs we met Miller's Ark who had just dropped 5 cattle off on the site. They seemed happy to be there and went off exploring the site. We also checked reptile tins and felts. Most of the felts are no longer serviceable. We found a nicely marked adder under a tin. We listened out for woodlarks, but only heard a distant skylark.

Tuesday 13th August - All Cows Off Site

Hi All,  We've moved the 3 cattle down the track to Pondtail now.  Thanks again for all your help keeping an eye on them.  Best wishes  ...
