Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Sunday, 31 May 2015

Between 10:30 & again at 11:15 this morning, all 3 girls were sitting in the same place in I11 chewing the cud.  They looked quite contented considering the weather!

    Saturday, 30 May 2015

At 8:30 this morning all 3 girls were together on the triangle in L/M9, heads down and taking no notice of us at all which was good.  All appeared fine.  Talking to a fellow dog walker, who informed me of an incident recently they saw whereby a Golden Retriever was barking/frolicking around the cattle. This is the same dog that was causing issues last year (if you recall).  Not sure how you want to play this one?

    All grazing in j6

All three were looking lovely as they grazed the grasses and birch.  Eyes clear. Clean coats. All tags present. Happy days

Visited c1100 hrs today. CCF contingent doing basic training and living out tonight on the area.  The ladies grazing serenely but determinedly amongst the training groups in I, J and K 13!   All look well; CCF more wary of them!!  Some of the staff asked me about the cattle.  But, 200063 (I think, though her ears kept constantly moving to ward off flies!) has a noticeable, 6-inch graze on her right flank.  I do not think it's anything to be concerned about, however.

    Wednesday, 27 May 2015

Nearly gave up today but double backed along the path parallel with the boundary fence when we saw the girls coming towards us in H8/9 at 12:45. Gave them a wide birth as they passed us, all looked fine.

    Sunday, 24 May 2015

Impromptu first visit to the 3 ladies today at c1450 hrs.  In determined transit, line astern, moving S to N on the path H11 to H8.  All looked jolly well.

    Saturday, 23 May 2015

Thought I'd blog as I was over there today.  All together in M3 at 10:15am.  Didn't get too close as they were amongst the trees, brambles etc with heads down, looked fine though.

    Site Check - 20th May

Checked in on the three girls today and found them all in G13. They seemed a little skittish at first but soon got their heads down and continued to graze. All three looking well.

    Trough full and working ok.
Spotted the cattle at 1410 in K11, heads down & tails wagging. Looked up curiously and didn't appeared bothered when Rosie tried her luck, they just moved away from her. By the time we crossed the road & walked through the woods (within 8 mins) they were in C/D15!  not sure how we are going to identify them though if any problems do occur as they are all alike 😃
