Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Wow it's been a yr already since I posted a picture of them munching away on sweet chestnuts and they are at it again, down near the water trough. Cool sight and crazy crunching sounds. X

All contented and well at 1145 hrs. 2 cudding and Kit Kat browsing on sweet chestnuts and bramble in the area near the water trough.  Trough OK.

    Cattle now on site again.

    Hi All,

We completed the TB tests today and I'm happy to report that the cattle are all clear. We have now moved the three girls back onto Bramshot Heath so normal service has resumed!

    Cheers

    Rich.

    Cattle coming off

    Hello all,

As part of their routine annual TB test the three ladies will be rounded up and temporarily removed from the site and relocated to the meadows we call Great Bramshot Meadow (just over the railway bridge and behind Sunnyside Removals).

They will join some old friends and form part of a larger herd (c.20 cattle) for a week or so after which they will return back to site to continue with their fantastic efforts on site.

    Many thanks all,

    Elliott

Bit worried?? Seen today at 3. 30

Two cows munching on low grasses at the top of the heath field the other (172) was slightly harder to find, she was hiding in the fern with an extremely muddy head. She really seemed sheepish and a little worried. She's walking very stangley and seems really bloated..?
    Bit worried about her. X

    Wednesday 4.30

Had a quick walk round and found the girls grazing along the path in F4/G4. Rosemary on her own grazing among the trees. All moving well, clear eyed and appeared happy with no problems.

    Today 5.45

Rainy ☔ evening now. As soon as I get well into my walk that's when the sky's fall down. So I write this standing in a Holly bush with two kids and three dogs and surrounded by three fat wet cows, who bowled over to greet us in the area near the green field, right side of the heath field. X

    Friday, 14 October 2016

At 1500 hrs, all by the main gate looking fit, fat and - as Joanne feels too -  ready for winter.  I think their coats are getting thicker too.

    Today 11.30

    Today at 11.30

All three happily munching away in the bottom right of the heath field. Fattening up for winter. They look in great condition x

    Ah Haa 2.20

Found them huddled together in the trees at the far right of the heath field. Good I feel better for having found them. All seems fine indeed x

    Today at 1ish

Army banging around again. Been here every day this week and have yet to see the girls???.
Admittedly I have been extremely busy and haven't spent my usual amount of time here but still they are being exceptionally illusive. X

Sunday 6pm - All three looking good

The threesome made us walk a fair distance today but we found them over in one corner of the Heath not far from the cattle crossing in M3. All looking well and in good shape, no issues seen.  One of them was about 50 yards away, but I assume they'll group together again later and socialise.

Looking healthy and happy by the gate in the top right hand corner of the heath field. X

    Wednesday, 5 October 2016

Found them at 5.0pm, all grazing on the grass in F4/G4. Moving OK with no obvious problems.

    Sunday, 2 October 2016

It's been a long while since our last visit but was good to see the girls as we started our walk at around 8:45 this morning. They were all in N5 heads down chewing away.  Stopped to talk to them but they were not interested lol.  Looking good though.

Tuesday 13th August - All Cows Off Site

Hi All,  We've moved the 3 cattle down the track to Pondtail now.  Thanks again for all your help keeping an eye on them.  Best wishes  ...
