Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

All three happily grazing along the central pat of the heath land ,all seems calm ,trough ok. X

    Sunday, 28 April 2019

At 0930 hrs all alongside the track in L13 grazing.  All look very good. No sign of tick blood trails today on any of them.

    Thursday, 25 April 2019

    All good

They were right by the gate when I arrived to see them today - all looking good and trough fine too.
Found all three by the trough at 2.30. Cronus grazing along the path in E14, Teasle and Clever Clogs laying in the sunshine by the trough, chewing cud. All three looking a bit cleaner, no problems. Trough full and functioning OK.

    Monday, 22 April 2019

Tucked away today in C5 at 0915 hrs; just spotted them through all the trees.  All well; just the old signs of ticks on some.  Trough OK

    Thursday, 18 April 2019

Checked at 3.30. Saw all 3 from a distance over the gorse, grazing in L6, No close up inspection but they seemed to be OK. Checked trough - working OK and full.

    Wednesday, 17 April 2019

    Today at 7pm

All three having a lay down in the bracken near the trough. They didn't seem at all bothered by us or the dogs at all.x

    Tuesday, 16 April 2019

Found all 3 near the trough at 7:30 this morning.  Looked fine although (strangely) Teasle was just standing very still by the gate at the end (waiting for it to open lol). I went around the outside of the path so I was the other side of the gate and she came up close enough for me to give her a nice long stroke. She was very brave and not at all bothered by my barking JRT’s lol.

    Monday, 15 April 2019

    Today at 3.10 pm

All three under the rhodidendrum (spelt wrong) by the fist gate from the carpark. Is the cow with the long number (not 67 or 75) Lola? Anyway it let my son scratch her head for ages. They all had blood patches on them from Ticks I assume. They have loads of lo k between their back legs, big ones. Other than that all seems well.  X

Think I just missed Guy today.  Cows by main entrance.  All OK barring some tic blood smears on Teasel and Cronus. Trough seems OK.

All in the wood nearest the Bram car park closest to the railway.

Cronus and Teasel have had some ticks burst on their sides (nice), but aside from that they're looking well.

Grazing team aware of ticks and will treat all reserves together soon.

No problems with the trough as far as I can tell, full up and filling when the stopcock is pulled down.

    Sunday, 14 April 2019

    Today 3pm

Finally found the cows having a lie down by the that runs adjacent to the railway, all seems calm and contented x

    Today at 2.40 pm

I don't think the trough ball cock is working, altho it's full now there seems to be no filling when u put the ball cock down x

    Friday, 12 April 2019

    The 3 amigo doing well

Dropped off a lick which they tucked into with gusto! Not quite there on the grasses. Each have their share of ticks but nothing concerning. All looking well.

    Thursday, 11 April 2019

    Today Thursday,at 7.45pm

Could only find two of the cows for 15 minutes ,they were standing where the porterloos used to be,then after searching I spotted 75  right over by the railway track fence really quite a distance from the others. I walked and all seems fine x

    Saturday, 6 April 2019

    Today at 7.45 pm

All three munching away on young heather and horse and grass. All came over for a nose scratch. They then followed and chased one of our dogs away. Left them rubbing noses at the and rubbing heads at the top left path on the heath field.x

At 1345 hrs all in line astern on the fence line in E13.  Clever Clogs browsing Woodbine.  He has two bloody marks above his right fore leg but on close inspection they look innocuous.  Cronus and Teasel protesting loudly at the nearby model aircraft flyers - for no clear reason.  Otherwise all well.

    Wednesday, 3 April 2019

    3/4 @7pm

All 3 cows grazing silently amongst the horse half way along the far path through the heath field. All seems well

    Wednesday 3rd April.

Found all three down by the trough this morning. All three looking well although #75 is down in condition. This is to be expected at this time of year but we'll keep an eye on him.

I put a new lick in the woods close to the trough and they all tucked into it straight away.

Tuesday 13th August - All Cows Off Site

Hi All,  We've moved the 3 cattle down the track to Pondtail now.  Thanks again for all your help keeping an eye on them.  Best wishes  ...
