Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Monday morning

11am - all seemed well and trough fine too. I did notice some sort of mark on 067's sheath and it was attracting some flies. Didn't seem to bother him but I couldn't get close enough to see exactly what it was. Photo below.

    Sunday, 29 September 2019

1500 hrs. Fence partially down due to large fallen tree over it in B7.  Chain saw job to remove.  Could not find cows anywhere but do not believe this was due to fallen fence. Trough OK, however.

    Saturday, 28 September 2019

Found them all relaxing - laying in the grass in K15. Did'nt disturb them as they all looked quite happy chewing cud. trough full and working OK.

    Thursday 28th

The three were al lurking in the woods close to the car park. All looking good drove up to check the trough.  They followed me all the way up.

    Sunday, 15 September 2019

At 1115 hrs this morning all in L12, in the shade of the big fir, contentedly cudding and looking fit and well.  Trough OK too.

    Friday, 13 September 2019

    Friday afternoon

Saw the 3 at 4.30pm today. Teasel and 075 were fine but 067 wouldn't come out of the ferns to let me get a good look. Waited 15 mins but he didn't move from the position shown below

    Saturday, 7 September 2019

    Saturday morning

9.30am: Found them eventually tucked away behind lots of vegetation. They later came out to where I could get a better look and all doing well. Teasel's udder and wound looking ok.

    Thursday, 5 September 2019

    Wednesday

Found the herd in the middle of a gorse patch at the top end of the site the other end from the car park.

Called them out with some nuts.  All were fine.

    Sunday, 1 September 2019

All stood serenely by the trough at 1100 hrs.  Teasel's udder looked fine.  Boys OK, as was trough.

Tuesday 13th August - All Cows Off Site

Hi All,  We've moved the 3 cattle down the track to Pondtail now.  Thanks again for all your help keeping an eye on them.  Best wishes  ...
