Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday Afternoon

Found the cows near the car park.  They had found an old lick in the leaf litter amongst some some scrub.

    All looked well.

They made quite a bit of noise when they saw me but didn't follow me off when i left them.

All 3 happily watching us as we passed them along side the railway fence. Had a chat to them as I usually do lol, all looking good. Approx 9am.
I have also called Ian (emerg number) as there was a large tree down taking the wire fence with it in B5 and blocking the road track.

    Tuesday 18th February.

All three were laying down sunning themselves in I12 when I turned up this morning. They then shattered the peace and quiet with their usual noisy outbursts, expecting some treats.

All three looking fit and well, trough working ok.

Great looker refresher session today and relaxed herd. If a lil noisy

One of the boys does like to make himself heard doesn't he 😁

A big thankyou to Antoni, Carol, Bill and Deb for attending, I hope you all found it useful.

Herd doing very well and in good condition. A very busy day for dog walkers.

More flytipping unfortunately. A local dog walker said this happens on a fortnightly basis. Dumped, then picked up by.. Highways I assume? Will speak to Dave/MOD about the possibility of cams.

    Cattle spotting!

Looked this afternoon at 2.00.pm. Found all three rather spread out. Cronus and Teasle in C8 grazing on dry fern and ground debri, Clever Clogs grazing on laurel bushes by the gate in D4. Obviously not a lot of fresh pasture to be grazed at present. All looking fit and healthy. Checked trough - looks OK.

    Tuesday, 4 February 2020

All near centre tracks and 'were' relaxed until I rumbled past with the truck.

Good too see they can be calm when a truck isn't about. I had to drive on for a post repair.. Hard to shake them! All doing well with no concerns. No luck as advised by David and Grazing team this time.

Tuesday 13th August - All Cows Off Site

Hi All,  We've moved the 3 cattle down the track to Pondtail now.  Thanks again for all your help keeping an eye on them.  Best wishes  ...
