Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Monday 19th December

A mild, wet morning for a change! 4 soggy moos eating gorse at W3W: warp.eggshell.shun at 10.50am. All fine and not bothered by the rain.
Trough full and clear. Some chunks of ice remaining but I shouldn't think they'll last the day.

    Sunday, 18 December 2022

    Sunday 18th

Ice on trough already broken today. All 4 spread out in the area to the right of the gate by the railway bridge car park. Bramble and fallen acorns were today's favourites. All fit and well.

     Thursday 15 th December @2-40

Went to the water trough first and broke up more of the frozen water. The pipes are frozen but met Chris at the trough later who was trying to unfreeze them.

Found three cows, 2088, 0075, 160, but no sign of 175 , Eagle who no doubt was buried in the gorse thicket. Three I saw all moving very quickly and munching well.

Teasel and a boy in the gorse nearer to the railway. Couldn't see the other 2. Both looked good.

    Wednesday, 14 December 2022

All four found in the heather looking quite sleepy in the haze winter sunshine. At ///cautious.protects.suiting

    Monday, 12 December 2022

    Monday 12th December

Found 2 cows pursuing a white van near the trough. Thought it might be a ranger but not sure? Followed them down the track to the gate after checking the trough which was icy but accessible. They met up with the other 2 near the gate. All looked fine but somehow disappointed not to be given something to eat?

     Thursday 8th December

What a beautiful day to be a “Livestock Looker”

I found three cow bottoms sticking out of the gorse, and one face of cow 2088, Teasel. All were munching happily and appeared content.

I did find “ What 3 words” on my phone but later realised I would be somewhere in Western Australia, which the cows and I , are not. Apologise, we were in Bramshot Heath 🙄

    Wednesday, 7 December 2022

    No issues

All four by the water trough searching for acorns? Can’t think what else they would be eating in amongst the fallen leaves. All looking health and content.

    Monday, 5 December 2022

    Monday 5th December

10.00am all 4 eating heather at W3W: bombard.coast.relatives. All looked well. Trough full and clear.

    Sunday, 4 December 2022

    Sunday 4th

All four very widely spread out as singletons over the area. Dish of the day - brambles. All fit and well.

    Thursday, 1 December 2022

     Thursday 1st December @ 1-45

I eventually found three cows in a thick, thicket of Gorse bushes, so could only see a cow shape through the Gorse as it was so thick.

Cow 2088 was on the grassy verge not too far away and he looked damp, but healthy and happy.

    Cows at “W3W”  Hiker.View.Exhaled.

    Trough full.

Thursday 1st December- All 4 cows seen

    Hi all,

We've found all 4 cows in the middle forest area, they are looking good.

We've sprayed them for the last of the flys but mostly for mites this time of year.

    Thank you for looking!
