Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    All still lying in the sun by the trough. Trough clear. 

    Caledonia seems to have a 'watery' stain at the top of his back left leg. Possibly has a cut underneath him somewhere that I couldn't see as he was lying down.

    All three cows sunbathing and enjoying a rest. Flies a nuisance but noticed 2088 Teasel’s right eye area seemed to be attracting more flies.

    All 3 in the centre of the gorse chewing the cud. Some ticks seen.

    All three cows chilling contentedly in the sun, chewing the cud.

    The flies were a nuisance but not as prolific as last week. I could not see a Sheep Tick on the left side of  Evan. All three seemed well.

    Tues 9th - Staff check

    3 cattle seen well near the railway side entrance. Quite a few ticks on them

     All sat down enjoying what little sunshine was making it through the cloud. Some flies but not too bad.

    All three cows basking contentedly in the sun but their noses and eyes are bothered by lots of flies which look very annoying. The trough is full .

    All 3 found at W3W:pretty.needed.chill at 10.20am.
    Caledonia and Teasle lying down chewing the cud and Evan munching on leaves nearby. Bothersome flies around their noses, and some slight discharge from Teasle's right eye.
