Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    225 collar not working

All three found and looking good. 225 was a little apart from the other two. Her collar is not showing on the map just to keep things interesting.

    Weds 29th - only 2 seen

Greta and the black and white one (forgot her name!) half hidden grazing in the path edges around WTW ///keyboards.wires.pipe.

They were right in the shrubs and the map looked like Ginseng should be nearby, but I couldn't see her.

Had difficulty finding them this morning. 216 was on her own and I saw her three times, just caught the back of the other 2 deep inside the gorse around L10, M 10 on the map. They are buzzing around.

    Tuesday, 14 October 2025

    Tuesday 14 October

All looking good at the perimeter fence near gate eating acorns and bramble. A lady dog walker took her dogs past them sensibly and all fine.

    Friday, 10 October 2025

    All good

All three watching the comings and going by the cattle grid munching the acorns

    Wednesday, 8 October 2025

Weds 8th Oct - pesky dog

All three grazing near the south cattle grid. Greta was being bothered by an off-lead dog when I arrived and the owner wasn't particularly helpful. After they finally left she went straight back to eating acorns so hopefully she wasn't too concerned.

Otherwise all good! Other two seemed calm.

Tuesday 7th October - TB Test + collars

    Hi All

The vet came today and carried out the TB test injection

All three girls were refitted with their collars, fingers crossed they'll keep them on!

They were a bit of a handful today so the livestock team are coming back tomorrow and Thursday to feed them in the hopes they'll be more bid-able for Fridays test read. Please carry out your lookering as normal apart from Friday!

Most importantly,  keep an eye on the Blogger for updates - I'm away from Thursday and back on Monday 20th so my colleagues will be updating the Blog!

    Thank you

    Monday, 6 October 2025

Monday 6th October - please note

The No Fence app alerted me at 11pm last night that the two cows with collars have not moved in some time. Therefore the locations shown on the virtual map may not be correct.
Hopefully they've just both slipped their collars. We will be down this morning to check on them.

Update: 12.44 - have collected thrown collars. Unfortunately this means none of the girls have collars on currently.
Will be refitting tomorrow during TB test.

    Cheers, Zoe
