Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday afternoon

All 3 grazing as normal today but I did still see the lump on 067's right flank. It looked a bit smaller than last week, picture below.

Trough was also still a few inches lower than normal but audibly filling up.

    Thursday, 28 May 2020

Walked this morning at 11.30. Found cattle with difficulty, somewhat spread out. Found 067 by the path in H12, and 075 among the gorse in J10. No sign of 088 - maybe laying in the bracken? Checked trough and could hear water is now running OK so should be back to full soon.

    Wednesday, 27 May 2020

At 0930 hrs all in K12 and looking good.  Teasel lying cudding with a magpie on her back, the boys grazing the new grass.  Trough OK.

    Monday, 25 May 2020

Walked this afternoon at 2.30. Found all three grazing in J13. 067 looked to be clear of the lump.
Checked trough - water level is 2 to 3 inches lower than normal. Will check again this week.

    Friday afternoon

Found all 3 grazing as normal today but noticed a bit of a lump on 067's right flank. Presumably this is to do with the TB tests but picture below on case it warrants further attention

All good but not seen 114 up

Two of them up and munching today, still haven’t seen 114 on her feet. She was repeatedly licking her front left leg and no amount of gentl...
