Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

I have left a VM for Elliot and called the office and spoke to Laura at 1pm.  I was over walking Rosie this lunchtime, turning the corner in G13 at 12:50, I thought, oh bless there they are, then I spotting someone running away from Jericho who started trotting quite quickly towards her. I quickly put Rosie on her lead and walked towards a couple who were in there mid 30's, wearing dark jackets, they had a small terrier like a Scottie off the lead. when I approached them I asked what it was they were feeding them, they said carrots.  I said, please don't feed them as they have enough food here. they then just said, carrots are ok and started walking off in the direction of where I came from.  Trouble is the cows obviously liked the carrots as they started to get quite close to me and then followed the couple down the track. I cut inside and walked back up through the meadow and found the girls right by the cattle grid in C16 but no sighting of the couple who I guess carried on walking down the track. I have never seen this couple before but just wanted to make everyone aware.

    1. Cheers for this Debbie,

Thanks very much for the info and approaching them, this does happen unfortunately and on many sites. But you have done the right thing in calling us as soon as it happened, on this occasion Elliott was in a meeting, but on another occasion it might be that one of us is on site and near by, so please call.

This obviously goes out to all lookers, please call if you witness a similar issue so that we may take it from there. Thank you all :) Thanks Debbie :)
