    Fly sprayed

All three have been sprayed and looking good. Would looks fairly good as well.

    Monday, 26 August 2019

Found the cows at around 11.30 this morning - missed Jack. All 3 grazing in I12 looking fit and healthy. Teasles udder still looked red and the neck wound had flies around - not apparently bothering her. Checked trough-  full and working OK.
Saw a small grass snake, about 6 to 8 inches long,  alongside the path in G5. Coiled and hid in grass when we approached.  Photos attached, (foot to show size) it was quite small.

    Teasel’s wounds Sprayed

I have had a look at Teasel this morning and given both the udder and neck a spray. They both look like they are healing so this should speed up the process and try and keep away a few flies. Naturally 67 immediately had a fashionable blue quiff going on. Thanks, Jack

    Sunday, 25 August 2019

At 0815 hrs today all 3 near the main gate/on the tarmac track. Boys OK. Teasel has a graze on right side of her neck that flies were swarming around, as they were round her udder but that looks OK now.

    Friday, 23 August 2019

Had a late walk at 7.30 pm. Saw both boys in D5 moving towards G5. No sign of Teasle. Both boys looking healthy and moving OK, both  mooing, trying to find mum?
Trough full. Gate with inner tube modification working OK.

    Wednesday, 21 August 2019

A good looker session with a nice chap named Antoni.

Teasel's wound looking a lot better which was nice to see. The boys were their usual vocal selves as soon as they caught sight of the truck! All behaved well, local dogs not so much..

Picked up a bridal gate ling handle thats lost a bolt for the pedestrian gate closest to the railway. Not closing properly. Wacked on an inner tube to ensure the gate at least closes for the time being.

    Tuesday 20th

Spotted them a couple of times this morning but specifically at 8.30 when they were in our path in H11, the boys on the path and Teasel in the trees. Couldn’t get too close with the dogs but they all appeared to be fine with heads down. Trough checked too and all ok

    Monday, 19 August 2019

    Monday 19th August.

Checked in on the cattle today and they're all doing fine.

Teasel's udder is healing well. She has got a lump right on the back of the udder too which looks like another insect bite as it has a sore patch on top. It looks like she's really being picked on by the biters this summer!

    Trough working ok.

    Sunday, 18 August 2019

At 1400 hrs today all cudding near the trough.  Teasel was lying down.  I didnt get her up to check her udder, she seemed fine.  Boys OK. Trough OK.

    Thursday, 15 August 2019

Checked all again today - found in M6 - Teasel looks fine, as do the boys.  Trough OK.

    Udder update

    Wound on udder

I have been this afternoon to look at the injured cow on site. We will be back to get her in tomorrow and give her some anitbantibiotics ti help her along and make sure the wound doesn't get infected. After that she will just need no monitoring to watch and make sure it heals Well.

    Tuesday 13th August - Teasel's Injury.

I received a call this morning from Debbie to say that one of the cattle at Bramshot was bleeding from a wound near the udder.

Guy and I visited the site late morning and found that Teasel has got a wound on the back right of her udder. When we checked her the bleeding had stopped but there was a lot of debris around the cut making it difficult to see how serious it is. I managed to get some antibiotic spray onto the wound which will help combat infection.

The wound will undoubtedly receive a lot of attention from flies so we'll be keeping a close eye on her for a while to make sure that the wound heals ok and she doesn't get any further problems.

The grazing team are also going to check her later this afternoon to see if they think any further action is required.
Got a message left for me at home by a neighbour about Teasel being attacked by a dog(??)  Been out at 1430 hrs and found all 3 lying contentedly in L9.  Got Teasel to her feet and saw the blue spray around her udder.  All 3 are OK.

    Sunday, 11 August 2019

At 0900 hrs all, again, lying by the trough.  Cows and trough all OK.

    Wednesday, 7 August 2019

All spotted near the trough and in the wood.

These guys appear to be fairing better than other herds regarding fly agitation. Bramshot - Land of dreams..

    All good with no issues.

    Spotted!

    Mucky...

Teasel's lumps. Reminded grazing team to keep an eye on them. Horsefly or cycst?!

    Sunday, 4 August 2019

Found cudding by the trough.  Teasel standing the boys lying hidden in tall bracken.  All well, though Teasel still has those lumps on her foreleg as Ned mentioned.  They've been the same for weeks now and don't seem to bother her.  Trough OK.

Tuesday 13th August - All Cows Off Site

Hi All,  We've moved the 3 cattle down the track to Pondtail now.  Thanks again for all your help keeping an eye on them.  Best wishes  ...
