Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Looked as our afternoon walk, 2.30pm. Found all 3 in K12, Both bullocks grazing, Teasle (088) laying chewing cud. She looked quite relaxed but the scar on the side of her neck still looks bad. Difficult to see the actual scar due to the folds of flesh in her neck but the whole area looks to be alive with flies.

      Thanks for your comments re Teasel's neck. I have passed this on to the team for checking out asap to ensure that there is no fly strike in this area.

      Hi John,

      I checked Teasel this afternoon and only one of the sores was attracting flies. I'm happy to say that there is no sign of fly strike. I will get in touch with the grazing team tomorrow though as I suspect these sores might be a skin condition rather than being caused by scratching or bites.
