Viewed today 2.00 pm. Very heavy overnight rain so ground is wet, large puddles and generally soggy. light rain still at 2.00 pm. Found all 3 cows together laying down and looking quite contented chewing cud in the open at L6. Left them laying. Concerned for Rosemary, she appears to have a large scar (about 9 in long) on the rear left flank - bare skin showing. Not sure if very wet hair is simply matting and showing skin beneath but would like second opinion.

Tuesday 13th August - All Cows Off Site
Hi All, We've moved the 3 cattle down the track to Pondtail now. Thanks again for all your help keeping an eye on them. Best wishes ...
The scar that you witnessed as a result of her lying down is an old C-section scar she inherited a few years back before we bought her for our herd. It is difficult to see when she is standing, hence you noticing it for first time now.
ReplyDeleteGood spot and always best to ask
